2 Write a paragraph about a historical person whom you admire.
Prithvi Narayan: The Creator of Unified Nepal
There are many historical people in Nepal, but I admire Prithivi Narayan Shah the most. He was not only a brave person and a clever statesman but a great person with a long-term vision. He was born on 27th of Poush, 1979 B.S. as the prince of Gorkha, which was just one small kingdom among many others. After becoming the king, Prithivi Narayan planned to unify the small kingdoms into a big, strong nation. He gathered forces, used tricks and conquered as many kingdoms as he could in his lifetime. In this way, he laid down the foundation of modern Nepal, which would have been vanished from the map of the world if he had not started the task of unifying the scattered kingdoms.

5 Write a conversation/dialogue between two friends about another friend getting married.
Radha: Hi, Krish! How are you?
Krishna: Hello, Radha! I’m fine. You didn’t come to school yesterday.
Radha: Oh, I had to attend Meera’s engagement. She’s marrying in 5 days.
Krishna: Meera’s ma…rr…iage! She was in love with Mohan. How could she do that?
Radha: Really?
Krishna: He’d told me about it. He was very happy the day she accepted his proposal. Poor Mohan! Anyway, who’s she marrying?
Radha: I’ve heard that he’s a foreign-returned guy.
Krishna: No surprise! It’s money that’s what girls are after. You don’t care about breaking hearts.
Radha: You can’t pass judgement on all girls. It’s a matter of attitude. She might have taken Mohan only as a friend and not as a lover.
Krishna: Some like you might be an exception, but most girls are after rich guys who can provide them luxurious lifestyle. Love and feelings become meaningless. Meera has just proved that.
Radha: No, I don’t agree with you. Anyway, let’s not quarrel on other people’s matter. We’re friends, and let’s not spoil our friendship.
Krishna: You’re right. The bell has also rung. Let’s go to the class.

The Rising Nepal
Dear Sir,
I would like to attract your attention towards the problem of the inhabitants of Birtamode, Jhapa. This recently announced municipality has not been able to manage the garbage lying on roadsides. No one is concerned about it. Birtamode is on the highway, and sometimes animals are killed by vehicles. They will remain there stinking, but no one will clear them. This can pollute the whole area, make people sick and spread disease. We have requested the municipality to take some decisive action to address this problem. We would be grateful if you could add strength to our voice by printing this news in your newspaper.
Yours Faithfully,
XYZ
7 Compare Nepal and India.
Comparison of Nepal and India
Both Nepal and India are independent countries. Both are democratic republics. However, Nepal has never been colonized by outsiders whereas India has experienced a long period of colonial rule by the English. Like India, Nepal is now divided into states. Both are multicultural, multiethnic and multilinguistic countries. In both countries, the majority of the population follows Hinduism. The social structure, family life and relations, cultural values and rituals and many other aspects of social life of both countries are similar to a great extent. There are also Muslims and Buddhists as well. Both are the members of the SAARC. But India is about 22 times bigger than Nepal and has a population 50 times as much as that of Nepal. There are more industries in India than in Nepal, which is not as developed as India. Nepal’s national language is Nepali whereas India’s is Hindi. However, both these languages share most of the alphabets because both are daughter languages of Sanskrit.
